A summer with Ralph Lauren

Almost 5 years ago I was sitting at the desk of our house in Wollerau: a little village lost somewhere in the Swiss country side. In front of my desk there was a triangular window from which I could see the lake and see the snow falling in winter. Catherine would often say goodbye to her daddy in the morning from there and, from that desk, my blog Sara and Catherine’s Tales was born.
I didn’t start writing because I wanted to make money out of it, I had no knowledge of photography nor of Instagram from a business perspective. I just wanted a space where I could tell my story, where I could share my life. I couldn’t imagine at the time that blogging could turn into a job.

Often in life I felt lost, like I didn’t have a clear vision of who I was and what I wanted to do. I’m very volatile and still am in certain aspects (ask my husband): I don’t have a defined niche, my style is constantly evolving but this is ME. I finally know what I want to do, tranforming my vision of live into reality through my photos.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been working with Polo Ralph Lauren, a brand that means a lot to me as it was always on my wish list when I was a young girl. I used to save money to get their shirts and over time I managed to buy 1 teal polo with a yellow horse and 2 striped shirts: a pink and a blue one which I used for over ten years and only recently had to donate to charity (pregnancies right?)! Instagram wasn’t even born at that time, can you imagine? Little did I know that I would eventually work with Ralph Lauren one day!

I wrote this post to let you know that, if I would have listened to what other people wanted me to do or if I had followed their advice, I wouldn’t be doing today what I really love. Everyone was laughing at me when I was saying I wanted to write a blog! Never listen to others when it comes to your future, always trust your gut and don’t wait too long to do so. From passion and commitment beautiful things are bound to happen!
