My Christmas decoration 2015 (Eng.)

Christmas is definitely my favorite time of the year. I’m all for a house full of decoration that makes you feel like you never want to stick your nose out of the door.

Red, for me, was always “The Christmas Color” by definition but I grew a bit tired of it and I’ve decided to go for a more elegant look: silver and white were the winners and they are in full swing this year ๐Ÿ˜‰

After drooling over several Instagram profiles, all belonging to amazing Scandinavian house owners, I’ve found the courage to get some sequin cushions: I’m head over heels with the result! It might be a bit kitsch but I know it will be very hard to replace them after the holidays haha!

I’ve decorated my rattan trunk with a fluffy faux sheep fur blanket and a tray with some bits and bobs; of course I went for toddler/safe decoration so plastic all the way ๐Ÿ˜‰

Besides the TV there are few pine branches in little glass vases and another bigger vase with some pinecones, this is surely my least favorite corner and I will soon try to give it a better look (yes, I’m a tireless house decorator haha!). At the window you can notice the Ikea star which is lovely, with a bargain price and provides quite a good amount of light in the room, I surely recommend it!

On my Ikea console I’ve arranged a wood decoration (painted by me following a super easy tutorial) and my beloved Riviera Maison hurricane. I have embellished the big one with some little trees, silver sand, tiny pinecones and a little candle; I love the result and you can achieve it with any big vase you have at home! Another simple but effective idea is to put some christmas balls in a big vase: I’ve filled one with my most fragile balls so they are toddler proof and I don’t have to store them away to wait for ehm, let’s say less busy years!! I have completed the console look with a little cake stand on which I display a silver tree and two matching tea light holders.

On the dinner table I’ve created an advent centerpiece using some real pine branches from the garden (much nicer then the fake plastic ones), 4 candles, black ribbon and the number tags which I think are fab. Besides the centrepiece my super tall candle stick makes the whole setting more attractive; as you might have noticed I have a thing for candle holders haha!!

My Christmas tree is still work in progress as it’s a bit too bare for my taste and need some kitsch additions ๐Ÿ˜‰ !!

I will soon post another post about Christmas (and some other ones) so stay tuned!!
