GO TO SEE THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
During Christmas time London lights up with the greatest sparkle and experiencing that magic festive atmosphere is just something you don’t want to miss. The best spots to check out the Christmas lights are Oxford Street, Regent Street (my favorite) Carnaby Street and Covent Garden. They all come with an added bonus: endless opportunities for shopping!
CHRISTMAS AT KEW GARDEN
No picture in this world can give justice to the Kew Garden Christmas exhibition: it’s a dream. Walk along a trail filled with more than a million lights and immerse yourself into a real life fairy tale. I went there with my mom and Catherine and it surely was an experience to treasure forever. Highly recommended!
ICE RINKS
Nothing feels more festive than ice skating at dawn, when all the London sparkle starts to light up. The nicest places to skate are, no doubt, located at the Somerset house, where you’ll also find a Fortunm and Mason Christmas arcade and at the National History Museum: my absolute favorite! It features a vintage merry-go-round for the little ones.
Catherine enjoyed her first time on skates at the Somerset house, it was really fun for her but hard work for me. The little missy decided she wasn’t going to use the Polar bear and insisted on wanting to try on her own which meant one hour for me picking her up and holding her to avoid a million falls. It was great fun nonetheless.
CHRISTMAS CAKE AT PEGGY PORSCHEN
I couldn’t skip a visit to one of the most Instagramable places in London. Peggy Porschen’ display never disappoints and the Christmassy one is “oh, so pink and chic”. The range of Christmas cupcakes is too pretty to eat and even the cappuccino features snowflakes made out of cocoa powder. Didn’t I warn you, it is an Instagram heaven!
BRUNCH AT THE IVY AT CHELSEA
There are several Ivy’s around London and they all feature lovely Christmassy displays. My favorite is the one in Chelsea as it features a whole wall of baubles, it’s gorgeous. Don’t be afraid of stepping in for one of my favorite Brunches in town, the decors is amazing and it has a winter garden as well. It is a very popular spot so don’t forget to book!
