Harrods is one of my favorite department stores ever. It is so beautifully done and with all its luxurious brands it is a great pleasure for the eyes. During the festive season Harrods gets even better, oozing with Christmas joy. This year all their Christmassy windows are a celebration of Dolce & Gabbana’s traditional Italian style and they are fabulous, until the 28th of December you’ll also find a pop up Italian Market featuring an incredible gift selection.
Even if you are not buying anything I highly recommend to pop down there and browse for a couple of hours.
Wander through the aisles of the best food hall in town featuring luxurious tins of cookies, the most luscious range of cakes, a endless choice of chocolates and teas…so much teas. You can even create your own blend, how cute is that? This is my favorite section: I never come home empty handed as I’m a sucker for cookie tins and this place is a true tin heaven.
Another favourite is the beauty department with its mesmerising choice of perfumes, you can find literally every scent you like and it smells divine in there.
Even Catherine really enjoys Harrods which doesn’t come as a surprise: they have a great toy department and the clothing section is every little girls dream.
We were there on a weekday and I highly recommend to avoid weekends and visit during morning hours: the place feels completely different. It’s very quiet and it’s so much better to wander without the endless crowds of tourists.
Catherine asked for some pictures with the bear at the Christmas section, she is so sweet. I mean look at these photos: she was really posing and asking: “one more with the little bear”. I love her to pieces, she is an amazing human being and I’m so grateful for the way she is: I wouldn’t change a thing about her, to me she is just perfect.
If all of that shopping has left you a bit peckish then don’t worry: there are several cafes and restaurants in the store offering you a great selection of different flavours and cuisines. If you feel like treating yourself to a luxurious hight tea then I recommend to check out The Georgian: it looks so opulent and the Christmas decor is just stunning.
