I’ve never made resolutions before as I thought it was unnecessary and I wouldn’t stick to them anyway. This year there are 2 resolutions that I’m so keen to follow through on and one in particular for which I need your help
I was always lucky enough to be able to eat as much as I wanted without putting on weight so I indulged a bit too much. I’m talking about eating 3 pastries a day and mayonnaise sandwiches every day. Yes…that kind of stuff.
Having had 2 “wonderful” c-sections, my body has taken the toll. I also suffer from diastasi of the abdomen which means that my abdominal walls didn’t fuse back together as they should have. I don’t know if you are familiar with that but it basically means that I will always have a certain amount of “fat” around my waist (unless I have another surgery but no thank you!). It’s surely not a big deal but I admit it does bother me a bit. I have been on a ‘no sweets on weekdays’ regime prior to Christmas and I did see a slight improvement. The regime went (of course) out of the window during the holidays and rightly so! What better time to have treats than at Christmas?
Well now I’d like to start that regime again, in the weekend I will stuff myself with all sorts of refined sugars but at least for 5 days a week I will try to be healthier.
Have you ever tried that?
When me and Charles were still childless in London, we often would hop on a plane and go for a weekend gateway. Then the children came along and we became a bit too terrified to travel.
Our last summer holiday was a disaster: we had to carry 1 buggy, 2 car seats, 1 child bed and all sort of other stuff on a plane together with two kids and all of that in an extreme heat. I can’t even tell you how that went; Harvey couldn’t sleep as it was too hot, I was drained by breastfeeding him and he was constantly crying. There was nothing good about those days apart that Catherine had the chance to spend some quality time with her grandmother which is certainly priceless.
Anyway, I’m longing to travel again. There are so many places that I want to see but organising a trip with young kids seems like a huge task. We have already planned to go to Ibiza in May but we want to discover something else. Do you have any tips on how to travel with a tiny tribe? How do your organise yourself with car seats for airport transfer? Any help is highly appreciated as I want to travel again!! And, of course, take a billion pictures along the way!
